About the Event

The cost of this class is $59 and limited to 12 people.

Why did that final spot sound so much different than the casting spec? Should I improvise or add anything to the commercial audition? Why is this spec so vague? Don't they even know what they want?

Tired of banging your head against the wall trying to decipher confusing casting specs? Let's figure out how to translate them together- and learn how to put your best read forward for auditions! This small group class will also include participation- so be on mic and ready to read! We're on Zoom (read here for best Zoom audio settings before the class).

About your teacher: Frank Verderosa has been a professional audio engineer in NYC for 35 years producing and recording countless commercials. video games and cartoons, and casting for products like Coca Cola, Mountain Dew, Burger King, GE, IKEA, 7-11, and many more.

We'll take all those years of being in the room with the clients and interpreting their direction to apply it to YOU, by sharing casting insights, ad agency discussions, and what goes on in the room where it happens! This is an interactive class. Bring casting specs that you've found confusing, troubling or weird. We will work together to interpret them, get "inside the minds" of agency clients, and work together to pick the reads that pop. You will be recorded and directed in order to demonstrate the before and after of your reads.

This Zoom class will be recorded, but a replay is not guarenteed. It is assumed that if you're signing up that you will be here- especially since this class is all about being directed and reading copy.
